Do you need a travel writer
Who can report seriously, humorously, practically?
With a native's knowledge of
overlooked gems in Florida and Georgia?
Who
can offer an insider's insight into destinations as diverse as Alabama's Coon Dog Cemetery and crossing the Atlantic
on the Queen Mary 2?
With been-there, done-that tips for haggling in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar, using your fingers to bargain
in China or digging crystals out of Arkansas' mountains?
Who can convey the exhilaration and apprehension of activities as diverse as riding an elephant, zip-lining
in Patagonia, rounding Cape Horn or bouncing off-road in Curacao?
Who adheres to the strictest codes of the Society of American Travel Writers?
I am a senior
citizen - according to Social Security - with the enthusiasm of a teenager and the can-do spirit of a Marine. Not to
mention the desire to let your readers know what's there, how much it costs, what's worth the effort and what isn't.
With 20+ extra pounds, two artificial knees and a lifetime's accumulation of achy this and thats, if I
can do it and enjoy it, so can your readers!
Try me on stories of past adventures,
new travels or a go-and-see assignment.

During 2009 I plan to be in
Georgia - Including Sea, St. Simons and Little St. Simons, Sapelo and Eagle Islands; Fitzgerald
- the town where Rebs and Yanks made peace; Macon, and the East Coast's Grand Canyon - in February.
Florida - Steinhatchee,
where presidents get away from it all, in February.
- Daytona Beach, where NASCAR and the London Philharmonic find common ground - in
March.
Communing with kangaroos in north Georgia in April.
South Carolina - Charleston and elsewhere in
June, the Peach-Off in Clinton July 26-27.
Mexico - Guadalajara and elsewhere in October.
I can be wherever you need me in between.
I can provide stories and photos immediately on the Texas Hill Country, Houston's lovable oddball sites, being
fitted for custom Western boots or digging for diamonds and crystals in Arkansas, to name a few.
Most of the sample stories - organized by area on the bar to your left - are as they appeared in The
Florida Times-Union. All can be customized for your needs.
